Been working on the truck camper this weekend! I'm wiring the bed for a deep cycle 12v battery, to provide some extra comforts that would be missing from a tent.
This is the electrical box that I'm building. It houses a small fuse box, distribution block for the grounds, and several toggle switches. This will be the command center for all of the accessories.
This is the completed box, from the inside of the truck. The sides of the box are bolted to the camper shell bed rail, and a ton of silicon caulk secures it to the wall of the shell. I was apprehensive about the caulk, but it's rock solid.
Almost ready to go! There are three toggle switches. Bottom is for the LED lighting that will be underneath the bed rail throughtout the bed of the truck. The middle is for the oscillating fan mounted up near the cab. The third is a spare: got a hunch we'll decide we need something else after a few trips. 12v outlet mounted as well, for any accessories that'll need power.
Wiring is complete! The heavy red cables are my battery leads, the brown will be underneath the bed rail to power the LED lighting, and the white will run up to the fan. All I need now is a battery...
Coming together nicely. Little by little, we're working towards our dream camper.
