Hiking and Cruising

Hi there everyone, just wanted to share some more photos with you. Rachel and I, along with our mutt Tango, joined our buddy Mark and his hairy quadraped Lucy for a day hike up to South Willow Lake, in the Stansbury Mountains. Great 7.5 mile hike up to a tiny lake near the peaks, even though we were rained on most of the time. A good time was had by all.

Tango and I crossing a snow melt dry river bed.

My beautiful bride, blazing a trail upward.

One of the earlier valley views along our trail. We're in the Tooele Valley, the next valley over to the west from SLC.

Our summit! Willow lake (pond), where Tango and her friend Lucy enjoyed a good swim.

Headed back down the mountain!

Good thing, because the next storm clouds were rolling in behind us, and covering up the peak.

One of the higher views. Our 3.6 mile climb up gained us more than 1,700' in elevation.

Our dogs, leading us back down the mountain.

What better way to end than with my beautiful wife! Great hike, and we discovered some new camping sites that we'll definitely be visiting again!

I'd also like to introduce you to our new motorcycle. It's a cruiser built by Honda, the CTX700N. It's an amazing machine, and has more than tripled my morning commute :) Wearing all the appropriate safety gear, of course. Full face helmet, boots, gloves, and hi-viz green jacket with the appropriate protection.

Here she is, out front of our apartment building. 670cc engine, with a laid back cruiser stance.
View above the capitol.

My office!

A fantastic ride, nimble with a low center of gravity, and has plenty of low-end torque. Well done Honda!!
Thanks for viewing! I'll be sure to send out some photos of our first camping adventure in the Ford, scheduled for this Friday!
