Wanted to share some photos of our recent adventures. First off, Rachel's lab went on a group camping trip to Flaming Gorge, UT. It's a great reservoir with beautiful water and plenty of canyons and gorges to explore. We rented boats for the day as well, for skiing and water tubing. Fun was had by all on this second annual trip.
Rachel's tent is the one on the left, near the precipice of the cliff. :)
We also brought along some paddle boards.
Tents have been pitched, getting a fire and some charcoal started for dinner.
First sunrise seen from Rachel's prime location.
Breakfast and coffee being prepared by expert scientists.
Rachel's entire lab!
Happy dog, in her natural habitat.
Got board on the pontoon boat, who's top speed was approx. 8 miles per hour. Some people decided that it would be fun to 'surf' on the paddle boards behind it.
Looks impressive. But again, keep in mind that we're moving at a trot. :)
Some beautiful rock formations in the gorge.
Rachel and friends atop a cliff, along with a pack of wild dogs.
These next couple photos are from this past Sunday. We rented a couple of boats to float a nearby water source, the Provo River. Our intent was to see if our dog Tango had sea legs. Turns out, she's an awful river dog. :)
The mighty Provo.
Rachel is preparing our vessel for launch on the water.
Tango almost looks normal, but photos don't include any audio: she whined almost the entire time. Always anxious to get to the other boat, no matter what one she was on.
Playing in the water. This river isn't too deep.
Rachel and Tango, enjoying the kayak.
I stayed at the helm of the canoe.
I guess we're ready for our big river trip in Colorado in a couple of weeks. Overall, very informative practice run.
